This is my 21st year of teaching at a Title I school. I am trying something new and teaching Spanish Immersion. My school offers this program as one way to attract families to our school. I want to add more diverse books to my classroom library. I’m hoping you will help me! Due to COVID-19, I delayed this original project.
This year I would like to request materials for my students who are currently learning on-line.
Each student was provided with a Chromebook. If needed, they were provided access to free internet service.
For the last 2 years, I’ve asked friends and family to donate money so that each of my students could purchase a book every month. Now that I am in Immersion, I have two classrooms of students with my Spanish teaching partner. I would like to ask you to please help me put books into the hands of my 34 students. It is especially important to me this year, as my students cannot use my books and many do not have grade level books in their homes or the money to buy them. Please help us!
My Project
Due to COVID-19, my students are learning on-line right now. They do not have access to all the books in my classroom or our school library. With these new books, which will be given to each student, my students will have access to a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level while learning from home. My students will be able to read multiple books for pleasure in the safety of their own home. Please consider helping me put books in the hands of my school babies.
