My Project

My second grade students are excited and eager to learn. They love to read. I teach at a small, Title I-funded school. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Approximately 75% of our students are African American and approximately 20% of our students are of Hispanic descent.

I would like to use these books with our small group guided reading instruction.

I will work with students in groups of four to give them individualized reading, focusing on skills like decoding, vocabulary, and comprehension. These high interest books will help make learning to read and and relevant. My students deserve the best and I want to give it to them.
