My students need stories by favorite authors such as Dr. Seuss and Laura Numeroff to practice reading on our new Nooks!

My Students

My 52 first graders were thrilled with the new addition of 3 Nooks for our listening center! While they love to read actual books, there is added value to having stories come alive and read to you in your very own hands.

My students are first graders who love to read!

Some are learning English, some are new to the country, a couple are autistic, all are learning to read. Our Title I school believes in enriching our students and helping them achieve high goals. 70% of our students are on the free/reduced-price lunch program and many are learning English as a second language.

My Project

Thanks to Donors Choose and generous donors from around the country, our class just received 3 new Nooks to replace our broken CD players. Now, we would like to ask for a $100 gift card from Barnes and Noble so that we may fill these Nooks with books! Your donation will help children listen to stories while practicing their fluency and comprehension. Motivation will increase while good stories come alive with voice and animation.

Your donation for this gift card will help our e-reader library swell with good stories.

We have a few favorite authors and I can only imagine the gasps and big smiles as these favorite stories are read aloud to the students. Listening to stories is a vital part of learning to read. Thank you for your consideration!
