My Students
I work with thirty eager and diverse learners every day. My students are a diverse group of students that come from a variety of different cultures.
Over half of my students are English Language Learners and more than 60% of my students receive free and reduced-price lunch at school. Many of my students are refugees, homeless, or come from families of generational poverty.
In addition, of the thirty students in my class twenty of them are boys and ten of them are girls.
My Project
My students are in need of a variety of books at different levels. My students are always eager and excited to read new books, but my students are limited in their book selection because there are a limited number of authors and levels of books in my classroom library.
My students love to read and they would love to have a larger selection of books available to them in their classroom library at school! In my third grade classroom, I have students reading books from a kindergarten level to a fifth grade level.
Even though the majority of students are reading at a third grade level, many students are not able to access "good fit" books in my classroom library. I would love to be able to provide more books for my students in a variety of genres and reading levels!
