My Students
At our school we have 77% free and reduced price lunch population. Working in a low income school, students are faced with struggles daily, however they persevere and work hard.
I am trying to provide my students with a classroom environment that is inviting, engaging and most importantly encourages collaboration and learning.
We have an amazing space within the classroom to read, now we need engaging books to peak our interest. There's nothing better than a new book to pick up and read!
My Project
In my 4th grade classroom during our reading time, students are allowed to go to the Read to Self center. I have noticed students are not as engaged as I would like during this time. The classroom library I have is somewhat outdated and students aren't as interested in checking out books to read.
Students desire to read is extremely important. By adding new, exciting, fresh titles to our classroom library, I feel students would continue to enjoy and love reading! Reading takes their minds to a whole new world. Please help my students love of reading grow as their minds grow.
