Help me give my students books to read, including chapter books and easy readers.
This project expired on April 19, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I strive to foster independence in my students, which allows them to have a sense of pride and feelings of accomplishment. This encourages problem-solving when my students will be faced with challenges in the future.
I teach in a classroom where half of the day instruction is in English, and half of the day instruction is in Spanish.
I have both native Spanish and native English speakers in my class, as well as students who speak many other languages at home. In our class, my students are becoming readers and writers in both Spanish and English! Our diverse students love to learn!
Help me give my students books for our classroom library, so students can read independently in the morning when arriving at school or during reading center time. I've selected texts with a diverse variety of characters so students can see themselves reflected in the books. I've also selected many high quality rhyming books to practice important early literacy and phonics skills.
When we are finished reading the books, some of them will stay in the classroom, and some will go to our class book room library for other students in the school to share for years and years to come.
