My students need fiction/non-fiction leveled readers for guided reading to improve literacy; to include Huckleberry Finn, Maniac Magee, The Giver, Farewell to Manzanar.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of learners. Some students have not yet discovered the wonderful world of books and the places a good book can take you. This could be the magical year that they travel on many reading adventures.

My school is a middle to low income school, many of my students find reading to be a wonderful escape from the stresses of their daily lives.

My students are eager learners, with a high interest in reading. They enjoy sharing book details with friends.

My Project

I have a number of high level readers whose potential is being limited by the resources available to me. Students are not able to reach their potential because we do not have appropriate books on their reading level for guided reading instruction. Students will use these high interest books to engage learning and increase the rigor.

My students will discover a whole new world of books.

They will reach their reading potential and increase vocabulary by being able to work with me on reading skills using high interest books.
