Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our third grade classroom is full of diverse students who are motivated to take risks and grow as learners. Our diverse classroom includes military children, special education students, and second language learners.
I am always looking for new and innovative ways to ignite learning in our classroom and to meet the needs of each and every child.
My goal is to have these students walk away from this year with the confidence to go out there and be a world changer.
My Project
A classroom library filled with rich, high-interest literature that will promote student talk is essential to every classroom. Currently, many of our books have been passed down and are out of touch with things today's students can relate to.
I want to fill our library with books that will promote thoughtful conversations within our classroom.
I am asking for books in series as well as other books that include diverse characters and strong themes that teach important lessons like kindness, courage, and empathy. I want them to learn about important figures in history that sparked change. My hope is that they connect with these stories and continue to develop a love of reading
