My Students

Our class is a diverse group of students that enjoy a variety of things. Stemming from video games and sports to singing and theatre, our scholars embody the virtues of empathy and respect allowing them to grow in every aspect possible.

Just as diverse as their interests are, so are their learning styles.

From kinesthetic to visual, our students require lessons to be presented in many modalities. Learning should be accessible to all students in the classroom. When these needs are met, we believe scholars will be able to flourish to become academically successful individuals that'll make strides in their own lives and the lives of others.

My Project

Black history is a topic that is normally glorified in academic institutions in February. As an educator and an African-American adult, I realize the importance of black history and understand that its depth and richness cannot only be emphasized for such a small period of time.

Black history encompasses the importance of triumph, bravery, love, and persistence--these values should be discussed year 'round, not just in February.

As such, I am creating this project to provide my students with the vehicles they need to navigate through their history, to engage in meaningful discussions, and inspire a community of deep analytical thinkers that are informed completely of the past and it's contributions to their present.
