My Students

My students are eager, enthusiastic learners who are hard workers and wonderful kids. In my classroom, all of my students are either Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing, most students are English Language Learners (ELL), along with others with multiple disabilities. My students' reading levels range from 1st grade to 11th grade. Even with all the adversities they face, they are resilient and hard-working!

The students in my classroom challenge each other daily and push themselves to be the best they can.

An improved classroom library for my students would mean their learning experience was truly tailored to their needs and interests. My classroom is a place where they are encouraged to read whatever they found in my library and simply enjoy reading.

My Project

These books will give my students many more options for their appropriate reading levels for independent reading. They will keep their interests peaked while reading about interesting topics and age appropriate stories that a high school student would enjoy.

These new books will increase their reading ability, knowledge about the topics they're reading, and their overall academic achievement.

Both the biographical series and the 'Discovery Eyewitness' books can also help all of my English Language Learning (ELL) students by providing pictures for them to make connections with the text. The "Stepping Stones" books will help my students get a grasp for true classics at their own reading level.
