My Students

I am blessed to teach first grade on a Native American Indian Reservation. My students are intelligent, motivated, cheerful, kind, and eager to learn. My students are extremely hard working and deserve nothing but the best. Our K-12 school district is categorized as very high poverty, and 100% of the student population is on free or reduced price lunch. I want to make the days my students spend at school extremely special and memorable, but I need a little bit of help!

My Project

I am graciously and humbly asking donors for new books for my classroom library.

These books will allow my students access to popular titles all day, every day.

Students will no longer have to trek to the library to exchange their books. As a first grade teacher, my job is to not only teach children how to read, but also instill a love of literacy. In order to teach children how to read, it is imperative that students have constant access to high quality literature.

I have also requested magna tiles for the students to use during STEM. These tiles will allow the students hands-on practice with estimating, measuring, creating and building. I also asked for cupholders to clip to the tables so the students can put their water bottles in a safe spot and not get their books wet.
