This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach an awesome group of second-graders in a small district. My students come from various cultures and backgrounds. They are very excited about learning.

My students are eager learners and hard workers.

They are a very inquisitive group that continues to improve daily. They enjoy hands-on activities as well as working with partners and in groups. They also enjoy completing computer work and playing learning games.

My Project

My students enjoy going to our classroom library. They love to read and look forward to the time when they can go "book shopping".

My students are on various reading levels and need books to match their abilities.

Currently, my students are choosing books in our library that may be too challenging for them. The books that I have chosen will allow my students to choose books that are just right for them. This will help their reading skills grow stronger. This will also allow their love of reading to be enhanced.
