Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Hello, I am Ms. Ginsburg! I will be teaching an awesome group of 5th graders who are excited and ready to learn! My students come from low-income families who cannot afford basic classroom materials. Although my students come to school facing many challenges, I know they can accomplish great things! I can’t wait to see their success and share it with you!

I come to school every day to build relationships with my students and offer them a quality education so they can discover their own voice and use it in the real world.

I hope you will consider a donation in order to help us reach our highest potential. Thank you so much for your love and support!

My Project

With everything going on in the world, I want my students to know that no matter what is happening at home, they can come to school and have great resources to help boost their mood. My lower leveled students feel confident when reading comic books. They love the colorful pictures on every page and a different feel than traditional books.

Comic books make reading a lot more engaging and exciting for my students.

Year after year, my students ask if I have the next book in a series. I’m hoping these series will make my students more eager to pick up a book. In the past I’ve had a hard time finding books that keep the interest of my boys. I feel that the Sports Illustrated series will entertain them for hours!
