My 9th and 10th grade English Language Arts classroom consists of 66 creative and ambitious students from a rural community. My students range in abilities, so I'm hoping that some of these projects will give all of my students the opportunity to excel at their various learning levels.
Our classroom and community focus extensively on positivity and helping others.
With your help, I hope that my students will continue to enjoy learning and all that it has to offer them. Thank you in advance for supporting education!
Many students in my class have needs that prohibit them from being able to pick up a novel and read for pleasure. Our school does; however offer students with IEP's the opportunity to have educational books read to them via a digital program. Even though my students are fortunate enough to have this opportunity they can't access books for pleasure reading through this program. I'd love to be able to offer audio book use to my students.
Imagine a world in which all children can see themselves in the pages of a book.
Students in my classroom, have additional diversities that don't pertain to their learning abilities. Some of these diversities include, race, religion, LGBTQ+, etc. I want all of my students to feel safe and welcomed in my ELA classroom. By giving students the opportunity to read books like, The Fault in Our Stars, Divergent and others where they can relate to a character or experience is an incredible opportunity for them to have.
