Do you remember visits to the library when you were young? Exploring the shelves, looking for a book that would take you on an exciting adventure. Remember the excitement of getting to check out a new book?
My students are avid readers.
The students are such voracious readers that they devour all the books in our library. The students love coming to the library to get books and explore worlds outside their small community.
In this small, rural town community, our resources are low. The students depend on our school library because most do not have access to books outside of school. Due to no budget, new books are hard to come by, and many of our books are old and outdated. Students eagerly inquire about new books and if any will be available soon for check out. I don't want to dampen their enthusiasm for reading by lack of new materials.
My Project
Our school has a variety of readers and some students need books at a lower reading level. They want books that would interest an older student but that they won't struggle to read it. The students will be able to have books in the library that are on their level instead of us having to borrow books from the elementary school.
By donating to our project you will help all students get books they can read.
We have students in our resource classes (special needs/disabled) that would also benefit from these books.
All our students need the opportunity to have books available that they can read. It doesn't matter the reading level all our students love to read!
