My students need high interest, on level books. I am requesting 17 books for guided reading, which is an imperative part of the Reading curriculum. I have also requested stools for alternative seating.
I teach at a Title I school in Fort Worth, TX. I teach third grade students. They are very sweet and appreciative kids. I work very hard to meet students where they are and give them the tools they need for growth. They enjoy being at school, socializing with their friends, of course, but also enjoy the structure and routine of a school day. I do my best to create a warm and safe classroom. They truly enjoy the small things in life. They show their appreciation with cards and notes, and they are very sweet. I want to inspire them to learn throughout their life and never stop growing!
My Project
In my project, I am requesting colored stools for alternative seating. Something as simple as a bright stool versus their same old desk chair can get them excited about learning! They truly do appreciate the small stuff. I am also requesting books that I are designed for guided reading. High interest books on their level are imperative to have in the classroom. Getting kids excited about reading is somewhat challenging and having a variety of on level books is key! Finally, I am requesting a planner that allows me to keep all my records in one place...organization is key to staying on top of all the to-do's that come up throughout the day.
