My students need strong, enriching literature to help improve their reading comprehension through diverse books in mulitple genres that include fiction, non-fiction, and poetry.
From a small school in Utah, we work hard to make learning engaging, challenging and a priority in our lives. Making a connection between school and home is important and helps us connect to each other and find a balance.
In our class, we have many different personalities that work together to help make learning happen.
Each unique person is a special piece of our puzzle. We are energetic, collaborative problem solvers who make learning fun together.
As third graders, we love to learn through hands-on interactions in the world around us. Learning from activities, books, technology and each other we make learning memorable and fun. We strive to make each day meaningful and look forward to what we can do to make our future bright.
My Project
My students are in need of books to help build reading comprehension in our classroom. We have chosen different genres of books to help teach strategies that focus specifically on fiction books, non-fiction books, and poetry.
We will be using the books to focus on specific reading strategies, which help us become stronger readers.
As a teacher, this will help me with my goal of having a literature-rich classroom where engaging and well-written work is used in learning. The students will love the bright and vibrant pictures in the animal book, will learn different traditions in the Kwanzaa tale Seven Spools of Thread, and will learn more about historical people in history.
