I currently teach third grade at a Title I school in Gibsonton, Florida. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, some receiving free or reduced-price lunch. My students are bright, funny, and eager to learn! This is my second year as a math and science teacher.
This is my first year teaching third grade.
I looped with my students from second to third grade. I love my job and try to make each day exciting and engaging so that my students love learning!
My Project
My third grade students would benefit greatly from having mini character education lessons each week in class. Using the books in this project, I would be able to teach a different character trait each lesson. My students would then have access to these books in our classroom library to read on their own.
It is so important to build good character in young people!
This project calls for a variety of books including: The Most Magnificent Thing, Do Unto Otters, Tattle Tongue, The Recess Queen, Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun, and more! These books teach important lessons on manners, doing the "right" thing, anti-bullying, being different, and having confidence!
These books can be reused year after year to ensure they reach the most students possible!
