My Project

We have worked for several school years to build a collective Book Club library in our upper grade hallway. Students love checking out books from the Book Club Library to read and discuss with their classmates. They also enjoy our daily read aloud sessions where we listen, process, and discuss a novel. We would love some additional help to fill every shelf some more!

We would like to add some new titles to our library and our classroom.

Books from authors such as Katherine Applegate are very popular with my fifth graders. We also need folders and supply bags to keep our text materials, book reflection pages, Post It notes, pens, and other materials used during discussion time. Students need to be exposed to new texts so they can discuss and learn about theme and characterization. Students share their favorite books with their classmates through various sharing platforms such as the All About Me poster and the What I'm Reading Board we have in our room.
