Help me give my students new nonfiction and fiction high interest books to encourage more independent reading.

My Project

The books chosen for this project were student requested. Many of the students at the school are voracious readers and we want to foster that love of reading. These high interest books will help them to become stronger, more independent readers.

Due to COVID-19, the books remained on the shelves and saddened the students because they could not check them out until later in the year.

This year, the library is full of kids looking for the next great book to read. They are constantly clamoring for more books from their favorite series or books in their grade level.

Many of the books in our K-8 library are outdated. The books from this project will go a long way in helping to replenish our library with new fantastic reads. The announcement to the students that the library has new books will generate a lot of excitement and continue to foster the love of reading.
