My Students

My students will make a difference in this world. They are passionate readers. They have a range of abilities from some being below level to on level to above level. They love to discuss books- picture books and chapter books. We learn so much, but they want to be challenged.

The key to developing strong readers who think is having tools that encourage it and evaluate them using the same type of whole books that they are accustomed to reading and not small 6 page books.

Will you help me provide them an assessment tool that allows them to read a whole book by amazing authors so that we can plan for better reading goals and strategies?

My Project

Jennifer Serravallo has written many helpful tools for teachers. The 15 books in this series will help me guide my students through setting reading goals, modeling how to use strategies with real, engaging books, and select more books on their own.

The donations to this project will help improve my students' understanding of reading strategies.

Engaging books are key to activate our interests and learning. These books will help wow my students into wanting to pick them up and others. It will increase their interest and will help them show growth as stronger readers who can set goals and use strategies to accomplish higher level thinking while reading.
