My Students

Each day I am lucky enough to walk into a classroom of smiling, thoughtful, kind, and friendly first graders. They make me so proud with their selflessness, their daily acts of kindness, and their empathy for others.

My students are hardworking, always putting forth their best effort.

My classroom, like many others, has students trying to develop independence, resilience, and responsibility.

An interesting fact: I teach in the same first grade classroom I attended first grade in as a student.

My Project

My classroom is filled with INDIVIDUALS. All of them have different personalities, interests, and talents. By having a variety of books for each one of them to read is paramount. It makes ever teacher smile when a student picks up a book a proclaims “I love this book!”

To help foster a lifelong love of reading, it is essential students have reading materials they can access.

By having a variety of fiction and non fiction texts at differing levels will help each student find a “just right” book. Something they can take pride in as they develop their love of reading.
