I am lucky enough to spend my days with a caring, curious, and hard working group of 2nd graders. Every day they come to school and put forth all of their effort and energy into learning new things. They love to play, wiggle, and work with their friends.
My goal is for my students to become strong, responsible, and independent learners.
Their grit and drive are something I strive to match every day. They are a small piece of a quickly growing community that tries, but is not always able to provide them with the resources they need to be successful. It is amazing to work with children who refuse to be defined by circumstance.
Igniting a love for reading will make lifetime learners! In our classroom we love to read. We read to ourselves, we read to each other, we read to the air... you get the point. My goal is to instill a love of reading in each and every child who comes through my classroom. I am hoping that a rich and meaningful library will help!
A good book can transform a child.
With a large classroom library, any student can find something to love. My students are able to get to our school library about once a month, which is just not enough. Because of this, we have to rely on our classroom library. So many of our classroom library books have been loved to the point of disintegrating. I would love to replace our most well loved books, as well as add some new and exciting titles.
