My students are comprised of multiple cultures, At-Risk, and Poverty level children. They all come to school with their own histories and stories. These children are resilient. They come to school and show us that there may be trying times, but in the end we can all come together to reach common goals.
This year our school is introducing a middle school style schedule and class arrangement to our sixth grade students.
The children with be working with different teachers as they move through subject areas. The students will get to experience learning by way of multiple teaching styles. I believe this will strengthen our childrens' development and preparation for the years to come.
I will be teaching Reading to this group of children and am in need of supplies to provided a week rounded curriculum and learning environment that these children deserve.

My Project
I am reaching out for support in building our class library. Our class is in need of engaging, interesting but yet challenging books for our multiple level class. We are comprised of sixth grade students that are reading and comprehending on multiple levels. Looking further into the school year we are in need of dictionaries and classroom sets of books. In order to provide well designed learning opportunities to my students, I need to update my resources. Also, I am in need of a few teaching materials and resources. Our class, and I, would be so appreciative of any donations in order to fulfill the literacy needs of our room, and to assist in a successful school year.
