My Students

Do you remember when you fell in love with reading? Think of how it felt when you saw a new book in your classroom library, and it was a topic or author you loved. My students are beginning readers, and instilling a love of reading is crucial at this stage of their development.

My students are eager readers and enthusiastic learners.

My students are first graders, and come from a variety of backgrounds, including students whose second language is English. Having a strong classroom library, with a variety of books, ranging in genres, levels, and authors, is essential to help nourish their love of reading.

My Project

These books will be a great addition to our growing classroom library. My students love books! They love to be read to, and they love to read to each other. I have chosen books with specific students in mind, and I know matching their interests with these books will help them to be even more successful readers. I love to give my students choice in what they read, and these new books will provide a variety of choices for them.

With these new books, my students will have a chance to really fall in love with reading.

I tell my students all the time that the only way to become a better reader, is through practice. These books will give my students the opportunity to become successful readers.
