I am a first year teacher going into a wonderful brand new school that just finished their first year. My school believes in The Leader in Me and within the last year, the school and my students were introduced to this new idea, adopted the idea and took it above and beyond. It is amazing how much these students have grown in the past year. Everything at our school is run and managed by the students. We have clubs and organizations such as: bathroom monitors, lost and found monitors, lunch duty, etc. all ran by the student body.
My students are leaders.
They deserve nothing but the best. I really appreciate the support and thank you in advance for any help. This is only the start to an amazing journey.
My Project
I am asking for thirteen books including Holes and boxed sets of two series including Percy Jackson and the Olympians. These are books that my students voted on themselves. These will be a great addition to our classroom library because the students have an interest in them and were able to request these based on their desire to read them. I chose a wide variety of genres so there are plenty of options to help intrigue my students to read. My class has a goal to read 100 books by the end of the year and these new books will help us reach that goal. These books will be put to great use and open up the options that each student has to read from.
