My Students
My students are 4th grade mathematicians and scientists. They are a curious group, that enjoys learning by using different tools and technologies. Our school is a rural school that loves kiddos from Pre-K until they are in 8th grade. This allows teachers and students to form relationships that are unique and strong.
A 4th grader's curiosity is contagious and pushes me to think of the box when planning lessons. Many of my kiddos are visual and hands-on learners and my classroom reflects that. I strive to teach them mistakes are a good thing and that is the only way we learn. Every year I am blown away by how much my students, love to learn and next year (and the years to come) will be no different!
My Project
Reading is a crucial part of learning even in the math and science classroom. There is no better way to introduce, teach or expand on a math or science topic than with a great read aloud. My 4th grade students enjoy being read too, and like using stories to remember important information. These books will visuals that students will refer to throughout a lesson, unit, and even whole year.
With the help of your donation, I will be able to enhance my math and science lessons with read alouds that will expand on standards that we cover throughout the year. This math and science library is going to be a powerful addition to my classroom that will be used for many years to come!
