Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading, to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs, is good for him."

You can be the one to bring that love of reading to a class of 7th grade students!
My students attend a STEM school focused on Math, Science, and Technology.
Our goal is to make sure that 100% of our students are accepted to college at the end of high school.
Our school faces huge challenges in meeting that goal, but we KNOW it can happen! About 70% of our students are living in poverty, and many would be the first in their families to attend college. About half of our students start 6th grade without grade-level reading skills. With your help, I aim to change that!
My Project
Although I have been shopping, out of my own pocket, at every thrift store in the city, I simply cannot find all of the books I need there. I need current, high-interest reading material that will inspire reluctant readers to pick up a book! With your help, my students will have popular series like Hunger Games, Twilight, and Pendragon, as well as book featuring diverse characters.
Research says that a child can grow more than 2 years worth as a reader in ONE school year when they are reading text constantly, which is why our need for books is so urgent.
Please help me furnish a classroom library that will inspire children to love reading.
In order to be college-ready, my students MUST be reading at or above grade level by the time they enter high school. With your help, we can get them there!
