This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The elementary school that I work at is such a special place! Our students come to school each day ready to take on another day of learning. I am proud to say that every staff member at my school strives to provide the best place to learn for our students.
My goal is to create a school and classroom environment that is inviting, engaging, meaningful and full of passion.
My classroom is a safe place where learning is fun but adds meaning to their lives.
My students are the most enthusiastic group of students I have had yet. Each and every one of them brings something unique to our classroom.
Thanks to your donations, I will continue to be able to do whatever I can to help my students succeed and move on to be successful members of society.
My Project
This year we will be using new unit plans of study for our literacy instruction. This my grade level colleagues and I have been working hard planning for our students in order to prepare the best quality instruction we can offer. We have selected some high quality books. Unfortunately, we currently only have one copy of each of these books. In order to provide the best instruction, I am asking for your generous donations to acquire class sets of these books.
Having a book in hand when learning reading skills is powerful.
Each of these requested books is packed with quality content that can be used in a variety of ways. Having a class set of these nine books will allow for students to have the books in hand while receiving teacher instruction, working with their partners, and completing their independent work.
Your donations towards helping reach this goal are so very much appreciated.
