My Students
You shouldn't judge a book by its cover... but most middle school kids do! Students rarely check out books that "look" outdated, worn, or old. They want the newest, most interesting, latest and greatest!
Our school library services over 1,200 middle school students in the 7th and 8th grades. Our public charter school promotes a mission to maximize every student's learning and personal responsibility. We work continuously through the year, devoted to this mission.
My Project
Providing students with the latest and greatest titles further encourages and motivates them to keep reading. Students today have a lot of outside activities/ distractions: sports, Internet surfing, cell phones, etc. We need new books that will keep them reading in spite of these distractions and activities.
These donations will make a positive difference to the entire El Rancho Charter School student population. All schools need a library stocked with current, interesting, motivating, and age appropriate materials.
