I have an amazing bunch of Kindergartners that need help with an items we use throughout the year. We live in a high free and reduced lunch area, and are considered a building wide Title 1 school.
Although we have some great support from home, we need a little extra help from others.
We have 19 Kindergarten students in my room and they are all hardworking, amazing kids! Their parents are always trying to help by sending in needed items, but wanted to get help in other areas the parents would not be able to support us with.
My Project
Since we are a PBL school it has allowed us to teach some fun concepts in very creative ways. Along with being able to allow our students to construct projects, we need books to help promote their learning. I have picked books that go along with our PBL units, and some of our other units we do throughout the year. Along with books, I want our children to experience board games. Boxes for board games are very easily ripped so I also put in for boxes that would hold the games themselves to keep them safe after MANY years of use. Lastly, I currently have twinkly lights in my room which they love to read with, but sometimes creates a problem of not enough light in the room. So, I purchased enough twinkle lights to cover the ceiling giving us enough light to read off of and the ability to turn the main lights off.
