Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a group of highly motivated and enthusiastic fifth graders. We LOVE to learn about new things and we take on each new challenge that comes our way with courage, persistence and creativity.
The neighborhood we come from does not always allow us to have the opportunities our same age peers enjoy.
We don't have safe parks or after school programs, and our school building is well over 100 years old. Still, we do the best we can with the limited resources we have.
We are the future leaders, doctors, lawyers and teachers of America. We know we have all of the potential in the world to succeed. We just need a little extra help.
My Project
We will be embarking on a new remote learning adventure in just a few weeks! It's a bit overwhelming and scary for all of us, but this project will help my students be prepared for the school year by giving them each a copy of the books we will read this year.
As you can see, there are a variety of genres and subjects, as well as high interest, grade appropriate texts that will keep students engaged and motivated to read at school and on their own.
