Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Against all odds, my students show up to school happy and eager to learn each and every day. I have anywhere between 22-24 students who love being with their teachers and classmates. My students want to feel successful and proud, and it is my responsibility to ensure they have the tools they need to reach these objectives. The worst feeling a teacher can have is not being able to execute a fantastic lesson due to lack of materials. My students deserve better and with your help, their dreams are possible.
My Project
We will use the books in our reading comprehension center and our leveled library. It's important to have books that align with each student's reading level in order for them to gain the confidence they need to become lifelong learners. The students will be able to receive one-on-one instruction in various learning areas. We will be able to create so many reading fluency activities with these leveled sight-word readers! I will be able to let the students take books home to read each night since they do not have the luxury of having their own books. We will be able to use these books over and over each year.
