Help me give my students more books to put in their hand so they can become better readers. Students need exposure to a lot of text, and a lot of different kinds of text.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a great group of first graders. They are energetic and excited for learning opportunities. This group is a mix of levels who want hands-on learning opportunities with technology mixed in. They are thirsty for knowledge and I want to show them how to find the answers they want.
After surviving hurricane Harvey, we are trying to put that behind us and have a wonderful year full of learning and growth.
Please consider helping our students have a great year.
My Project
These books will go right into my students hands. The more exposure students can get to books, the better off they will be.
"Ensuring that books are available to any child at any time of the
year will be a good first step in enhancing the reading achievement
of low-income students and an absolutely necessary step in closing
the reading achievement gap."
—Anne McGill Franzen and Richard Allington, 2009
I want to make sure that I am able to provide a print rich environment that includes books for my students that they have access to all year long. Books are so important to early reading development.
