Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students and I are so excited to be together in person to learn again! While we are in our math block, I have my students work with their personal whiteboards and dry erase markers. This gives them the hands-on learning they need to grasp addition and subtraction with regrouping. We only have about 5 markers left and we go through them quickly.

Next, reading week is coming up!

I would love to give my students more books on their reading level. It is great to have children read books that interest them, but I see their independence growing and they want to read by themselves. However, they can get frustrated when trying to read books that are not on their level. These books will help them grow their interest and reading level! I plan to use a camping/picnic themed reading day with them during reading week to get them extra excited to read. The band aids will help me teach them dipthongs like "ou" and "ow".

Lastly, we have been washing our hands more in the classroom and sanitizing all of our materials/desks with sanitizing spray and paper towels. Our class would really appreciate these paper towels since we go through them quickly. Thank you so much!
