Books and Headphones for Literacy
My students need 10 sets of headphones for listening to their Nook Readers. They also need high interest low readability books to read, like the Lunch Lady series.
My low readers crave high interest books to read. Graphic novels, like the Lunch Lady series, are the perfect fit for them!
Struggling readers love to learn, but my students need headphones to keep their book listening from disturbing other students.
Our school is an under performing Title 1 school striving to improve.
Our students have made great gains in the past few years and love to learn. Many students don't have access to good reading material at home, nor parents who are able to help them.
My lower readers will eat up this Lunch Lady series. We do not have many high interest low readability books for these students. These graphic novels will encourage them to read.
Many students are still learning sight words. They practice them on Nook Readers, but the headphones we have currently are falling apart. They need new ones so they can continue their practice.
If you were a low income student, you would know that sometimes the materials you need to be successful learner are not provided at home, and school is the only place you have access to them.
My students will be grateful for the new materials. The books and the headphones will help them become better, and more successful readers.
