Our Title I school has around 900 students who come from diverse backgrounds. A large portion of my school's population comes from poverty-stricken homes. They are kids with hopes and dreams of making their lives better and bettering the future of their families.
All of our students receive free lunch and most speak another language at home.
Despite their challenges, they make remarkable progress throughout the year. These students will one day change the world, and I cannot wait to see how far they go!
My Project
We are requesting some books for our library. The students love to listen to read-aloud. The writing journals will help students use better penmanship and become better writers. They will also enable them to get their ideas on paper and express themselves through writing. There is also a blank space to add a picture to accompany their writing.
We need a new pencil sharpener for our classroom as our old one stopped working.
I would love a pencil sharpener to help keep my students be focused on their work instead of worrying about their pencil issues. And finally, a bottle of yellow paint, since that is the color that ran out.
