Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a Kindergarten/First Grade class in a Title I school. 98% of our student population is on free or reduced lunch. We are located in a high-need community.

My students need books with CDs to increase their reading fluency. At this time, we do not have books with cds such as Cat in the Hat or Green Eggs and Ham in our classroom.

I need books that have cds with them such as Green Eggs and Ham, The Cat and the Hat, and Amelia Bedelia. These books and CD will allow my students to hear the stories they love with fluency and in turn will increase their own reading fluency. Higher reading fluency will allow the students to also improve their level of comprehension.

Your help will empower my students to increase their reading fluency and in turn be better readers with higher comprehension levels. You will make it possible for my students to have the books and cds they require to boost their reading fluency rates and comprehension. These skills will be used through out their lifetime.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
