This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am the proud teacher of 22 fourth grade students! My students love to read and are eager to learn in new ways. Fostering the love of reading at an early age is an on-going challenge for many educators. It is my hope to prompt this love of reading through many different avenues.
Integrating technology into the classroom is my way of preparing my students for their ever changing world.
In a Title I school, where over 70% of students receive free or reduced lunch, access to technology is not often a priority. I would like to change this. Students learn best when they have the opportunity to explore their world. This exploration should extend beyond their own neighborhood. This can be achieved through the increased availability of technology.
My Project
My students love to read and I'm always looking for new ways to foster their love of reading. Through classroom donations we have novels on audio CD but no way to play them. A CD Player is the last tool we need to utilize the many books on CD we have!
Listening to the audio version of the novels we have allow students to experience the book in a whole new way!
Once students have finished reading their novel, they often create projects about the book they read. Help us keep our printer flowing with more toner. This allows me to display their projects and keep their creativity flowing as well!
