My students need bookcases for the amazing library of books donated to my classroom. I was so elated that I had so many wonderful people donating books, and now have some donations left over for bookcases.
My students are kind, energetic, and have a curiosity that leads them to ask a lot of questions and wants to learn about many things. My class is very diverse, ranging from many different backgrounds and socioeconomic status'. My students love the time they have to read freely in my classroom or pick their own books for their Readers Workshop. They look forward to sitting on the carpet during my Read Aloud time. They love to be read to and they listen excitedly while I am reading. They want to see my book after I read it, and some kids go to our school library to check the exact same book out so they can read ahead of me.
Some of my students are on grade levels ahead of what I teach, and others are grade levels behind.
Because they are already interested in reading, I want to keep up their love by filling my classroom library with books that they enjoy so much that they CAN NOT WAIT for reading time in the classroom. Every student deserves good books at their disposal to keep them interested in reading and keep their curiosity peaked.
My Project
The classroom library is one of the most important parts of my classroom. I have had an abundance of wonderful people donating to help build my classroom library full of exciting, up to date, great, books that I know my students will learn from, love, and enjoy.
I would love bookcases to organize these books in and make my classroom library seem inviting and organized.
I will be color coding my books according to reading level and these bookshelves will help keep the books organized so students can easily see the many choices of books that are in their reading level.
