My Students

In our classroom, we have reading workshop daily for 60 minutes. We also have writing workshop daily for another 60 minutes. Given the nature of this instruction, students are expected to read and write at their seat for an extended period of time.

My classroom is full of 24 sweet students (11 boys and 13 girls).

The school is a Title I school, which means a significant portion of the students receive a free or reduced priced lunch. Many students are at school by choice and have opted to attend our school.

My Project

Our classroom library is filled with books of different levels, genres, types, and sizes. We have books that are currently in boxes because we do not have the baskets to hold them no bookcase to hold them. This is the reason I am requesting these materials.

Books not accessible to students is a shame.

I am hoping you will help me right this wrong. The baskets and bookcase will make all of our books available to my students on a daily basis. The smaller baskets will hold the chapter books, the medium and large baskets will hold the picture books. After all books have been put into baskets, the baskets will go on the bookcase. This way, each day the students will be able to have the books readily available. All of these materials will help my students grow as readers.
