Help me give my students an Inchy the Bookworm Book Vending Machine to promote a positive atmosphere for our school community while increasing their love of reading!
I teach second-graders in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma! My students are amazing, inquisitive, and eager to learn. Although some may have difficult lives, my students come to school with smiles on their faces. They are supportive and cheer each other to success. Half of them go to Title I reading, 30 minutes every day, for extra help.
My students are special because they have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes.
They are leaders who show love, compassion, kindness, and bravery. They are truly amazing people, who have a strong desire to help fellow students grow and learn. At our school we are truly a community!
My Project
My students would love to give back to their peers and share their love of reading. They have come up with a wonderful plan! They want to add an Inchy Book Vending Machine to their school. Adding this Inchy Book Vending Machine to their school will not only allow my students to practice kindness and selflessness, but it will also help inspire those traits in others. This Inchy Book Vending machine will be filled with books and our students will earn tokens through their own displays of good character.
This Inch Book Vending Machine will be filled with chapter books, easy readers, picture books and graphic novels to meet the needs of all our students.
These books will be for our students to keep and take home. Using book tokens as an award creates an atmosphere of excitement around reading. Not only will my students be building strong character traits, they will also be growing a love of reading because of course they will get to earn tokens to get books also!
