Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have been teaching for the past six years but this is my third year teaching in the NYC public schools! I believe in instilling a love of learning for my students - especially with books! With your generous donation, my students will enjoy special snacks. These snacks motivate my students to work hard all week to earn this special treat!

I teach 17 strong first graders in a high need area of New York City.

Most of my students receive free or reduced lunch and are so eager to learn every day.

My Project

We need these book tubs to continue our love of reading. We have also been enjoying our diffuser to help our learning. We love calming down to lavender and using peppermint to wake us up in the morning. We have been trying to store our read alouds for easy access but the closet is always a mess. These bins would help us stay organized but also find all the books we love.

Our girls have grown so much and we can't wait to keep growing into second grade!
