My students need an iPad mini so that can create Book Trailers and other projects to help foster a love of reading for themselves and their classmates.
This project expired on December 16, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I am a Public School Librarian and the students that I serve are very special and unique. We are a K-5 school with two preschool classes. All students come in the library and utilize me and my resources. I love my job! I enjoy reading stories, telling stories, putting the right book in a child's hand, and teaching them how to create using technology. I have a Maker Space in my library and we think of it as recess for your brain. The students can free build, create, and code. Letting their imagination run wild.
My students enjoy a wide variety of activities and have more talents than I could possibly list.
We have students who produce our news program and they will practice at home after re-watching their program to improve. We have a cross country club that met and practiced during the summer to stay on top of their game. We recently had a parade in town and many students came out dressed as super heroes to participate in the parade. It was so hot and it was the first Saturday after school started, but that did not stop them. They are truly an amazing group of kids!
My students will make books trailers and other projects with their iPad mini. Book trailers are a great way for students to share books that they love with their peers. Talking about books and sharing books is a proven way for students to learn to love books.
A love of reading is one key to success and my students really need to learn that love.
Our school has a high amount of students who are eligible for free and reduced lunch. According to uniteforliteracy.com, our town is considered a "book desert" with only 30% of homes with more than 100 books which, makes our library so very important.
I want all of my students to be successful in their life. The way that I can help them is by teaching them how to create content using technology, teach them how to write persuasively, and teach them to love books. You donation will help me achieve this goal. Thank you.
