Book Shopping Fun
Help me give my students what they need to meet their fluency goal.
My first graders are fabulous growing readers. Reading daily in our classroom from a variety of text. Shopping for leveled books in our classroom library is an important part of our routine. My students are excited to exchange books new books. During the school year we talk about how to talk care of books. Sturdy book bags to store our books in our cubbies would help my student take great care of the books in our classroom. Help my friends keep reading
Finding the right books in our classroom library is fun and challenging for my first graders. Throughout the year children are taught how to care for books in our leveled library. Having a variety of books readily available in book bags allows children to practice their skills that are taught in Mini lessons. The more my first graders read the more their word attack, fluency and comprehension skills improve. Our goal in the spring is to have all children meet the fluency goal. This is a great way to get my class excited about reading in the home stretch and motivated students make their goals!
