This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My class started the Jason Reynolds's Track Series and the seem to be able to related to these stories. I like seeing the students engaged and excited in reading something especially when it seems to be a struggle for them. This is the case for these students. They can see the trials the characters in the story have gone threw and how they overcame obstacles and see themselves in the story. Encouragement and self-esteem is vital for students and if the can see themselves in someone else who have reach some goals then maybe just maybe they can move forward with just a little be of encouragement through reading.
