This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every child needs a champion! An adult who will never give up on them. Through my eight years in NYC DOE I have taught, loved, laughed and cried with some very special children. I am a special education educator and have always pushed my scholars beyond their disabilities to see the world is theirs to conquer! I have only taught in the nations poorest districts with children and families that carry heavy loads on their shoulders. Even with all they have going on, it doesn’t diminish the smiles, the hugs and success we experience together in the classroom. I have always believed that every child can learn just not in the same way. With your support, you make it possible for learning to happen!

My Project

We are back full throttle! School is back in session and we are still adjusting to live with COVID. We have 3 feet apart and masks our new accessories. But one thing that hasn’t changed was our love for reading. My students need book baggies to help them develop their love for reading. The baggies will help them stay safe and organized and not cross contaminate their materials. Our goal as a kindergarten team is to keep as much normalcy as possible. So let’s bring book baggies to kindergarten this year!
