My students need book bags/pouches to carry their books home in order to practice reading fluently and with expression in order to build their confidence as well as their ability to comprehend what they are reading.

My Students

I am a new ESL teacher that is in desperate need for books and book bags for my students to take home for weekly reading. I work in a Title I school and I want to ensure that our students have books to take home throughout the week and on the weekends to support their reading growth.

I found literacy book bags that I would like to purchase.

They are heavy duty books bags ideal for library books, classroom library books and is stronger than a book buddy with a special hook for hanging. Students will love these colorful books bags with name tags for carrying books. These bags would be ideal because this way our students will have a harder time losing the books.

By having these book bags I will be able to send home more books and be able to get them back in order to use them year after year. I would appreciate any help that I can get to help my students.

My Project

The children will feel empowered and motivated to read by having the freedom to choose books that interest them and take it home each day! They also learn responsibility by bringing the books and book bags back to get new books. This project will also encourage students to share what they are learning with their parents and get their parents involved in their learning. By getting their parents involved it will have students gain pride regarding books and learning. Children will be able to take ownership of their path to literacy. I feel that reading is the essential skill that will open a child's mind to all other learning and success in life.
