Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into the classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. As a their teacher, I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything.
My students attend a neighborhood public school in Los Angeles that has been around almost 90 years!
We are a Title I school, our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 85% of our students qualifying for free lunch.
My Project
My kindergarteners love to be read to. The CD player and books on CD will be used in our listening center for the students to listen to their favorite stories. Our classroom currently has a CD player that is not always working and it discourages the students from wanting to use it. We need a good working CD player that works, is user friendly, has a built-in anti-skip feature, and can stream music from bluetooth devices.
The book bags will be used during literacy time where the students get to choose books they are interested in.
The bags will help promote independence as they continue to build their love for reading.
The large-screen digital timer will allow my students to view the time from anywhere in the room. It will help my class organize it's time throughout the day.
