Our Title I school serves many military families. We are a very transient school with families frequently moving in and out of the state and country. Our students often have one parent deployed or away working with the military.
My first graders are excited about class and have an innate need to learn all that they can absorb. They come to school every day with excitement in their eyes, wondering what amazing things they will learn that day.
Elementary teaches the foundation and gives the students opportunities to grow and become amazing adults. This is a very important year for all students.
My Project
Reading is the most important skill students learn in school. Not only does reading help students in everyday life, but it teaches them about new topics. It is amazing how much you can learn from books! Every week in class we focus on a new social studies or science concept, and learn about the topic through reading new books.
By reading and analyzing these books together, my students are gaining confidence in reading, and knowledge of everyday concepts.
With these books, we will learn about everything we can, including Abraham Lincoln, caterpillars, plant life cycles, planets, weather, and kindness. By supporting this project, you are helping my students become more rounded individuals, while continuing their love of learning and reading.
